Sefton approves plans for Bootle Strand

The first stage of the long-awaited Bootle Strand transformation has been granted planning approval.

Consent granted focuses on the first phase of the project, which concerns reworking the former M&S store into a food and beverage destination and the link of the canalside area, which already hosts an operational outdoor venue called Salt & Tar.

The canalside public realm will be enhanced by repurposing the lower ground floor unit to provide an active frontage to the waterside.

In addition, demolition work will reconnect the Strand with Stanley Road.

We are excited about our ambitious plans for the town, and it is great to see that this is reflected by our residents, business owners, and visitors.
